To you guys who are reading The Red Bedspread, I’m sorry for the delay the last few days. I’m writing part 28 now but I’m having Issues.

“What is that thing?” Cain asked, approaching the paddock fence with caution.
“It’s a camel!” Ambrose beamed proudly. “There are eight more in the barn.”
“A camel?”
“Yes! I suggested to her Majesty they might be a handy way for the Tin Men to get across the Salt Flats.”
“You did, did you? Gee, thanks.” Cain glared at him. “Did you also suggest how my men and I are supposed to ride these things?”
Ambrose dusted his fingertips together nervously. “Well, I believe there’s a protocol…”
“Yeah, you first, Advisor. You know, you’ve come up with some real doozies, but this takes the….”
Cain was interrupted by a gob of stringy saliva striking him forcefully in the forehead.
Ambrose’s eyes widened. “Oh, Cain! I forgot to warn you. They have this little predilection…”
“They spit?” Cain guessed tightly, wiping the goo off with his shirt hem.
“They have been known. I’m terribly sorry.” Ambrose pulled out his own handkerchief and offered it. “Really… I’m quite….” Ambrose made an odd noise in his throat. “I don’t know how…” There was another noise.
Cain looked up in alarm. “Are you glitching?”
Ambrose shook his head frantically, turned around and burst into laughter. |
